Single sheet. Coloured lithograph, laid on modern linen and paper backing. Scale [circa 1:8,000 (bar)]. The bar scale is in feet. This is an ungraduated chart, showing magnetic variation and soundings and diagrams of the set and rate of tidal flow. Proposed works are shown in yellow.

This chart was published the year after the Chester & Holyhead Railway was authorised. In 1850 the line reached Holyhead where the railway company built the inner harbour and developed it as a packet port for services to Ireland.
