Single sheet. Hand coloured engraving. Polar projection, with the Arctic Circle marked. There are inset maps of Japan and China at top right. The borders are decorated with Inuit hunting and European whaling scenes. There is a list of 'those worthy persons that have attempted the discovery of a North East Passage to China and Japan' - Chancellor, Willoughby, S.Borough, Pet & Jackman, Poole & Edge and Wood [1676].
