St. George's Bay surveyed by Edward Bransfield, Master of HMS Andromache 22 January 1821
Single sheet. Ms. Scale: [ca. 1:43 000 (bar)]. Cartographic Note: Ungraduated. Additional Places: South Shetland Islands. Contents Note: Three views. In 1820 Bransfield, on the Williams expedition from Valparaiso, charted part of the Antarctic mainland and made a rough survey of the South Shetland Islands. The date on this chart suggests he returned in 1821. In 1822 the British Admiralty published their first Antarctic chart, based on Bransfield's surveys.
