Bound sheet. Hand coloured engraving. Scale [circa 1:400,000 (bar)]. North at 310 degrees. Bar scales in English, Spanish and Dutch leagues. Additional Places: Brittany, Finisterre. The chart contains six coastal profiles and is decorated with two ships, three sea creatures and land animals.

A chart from Anthony Ashley's English edition of 'The Mariners Mirrour'. Lord Howard of Effingham ordered Waghenaer's sea atlas 'De Spieghel der Zeevaerdt' to be translated. It was so popular that 'waggoner' became the English term for a book of charts.
