Bound sheet. Hand coloured engraving. Scale: [circa 1:400,000 (bar)]. North at 337 degrees. The bar scales are in English, Spanish and Dutch leagues. Additional Places: Brittany, Lorient to St. Nazaire. The chart contains four coastal profiles. It is decorated with three ships, two sea creatures and land animals.

A chart from Anthony Ashley's English edition of 'The Mariners Mirrour'. Lord Howard of Effingham ordered Waghenaer's sea atlas 'De Spieghel der Zeevaerdt' to be translated. It was so popular that 'waggoner' became the English term for a book of charts.
