Typus Orbis Terrarum Iodocus Hondius fecit 1589
Heart shaped projection in circular framework mounted between glass. This miniature world map is one of the earliest world maps engraved in England. It contains many scriptural references, including quotations from the Psalms, and shows the world hanging from a cord held by the hand of God. The map depicts results of Drake's circumnavigation, most obviously the name of 'In. Regina Elizab' near Tierra del Fuego.
