Black and white manuscript chart in wooden frame of part of the Atlantic Ocean, showing the coasts of Britain, France, Spain, Portugal, part of Africa and the island of Madeira. Chart has model ships and parallel rule, and shows the course taken by a ship (with bearings), on a voyage from Britain to Madeira. There is also a working miniature compass, set in a compass rose. Lat. And Long. And mileage distances in margin, L.H.S. of chart. Chart designed to be used for Navigational teaching purpose along with the skeleton globe of 1854, (GLB0187), also designed by Charles Hatch.
