Plate
A white soup plate printed and hand-coloured with over-glaze enamels. It has red and yellow lines around the rim. On the edge is the house flag of Devitt & Moore (quarterly red and blue with a white square in the centre), on a ribbon above 'DEVITT & MOORE'S' and below 'AUSTRALIAN LINE OF STEAM AND CLIPPER SHIPS.' Impressed on the base 'ENAMEL PORCELAIN' with the painted pattern number '7310'. Devitt & Moore carried passenger and cargo between Great Britain and Australia from 1863 until the end of the First World War, mainly in sailing vessels.
