Woolwork picture

Framed woolwork picture by G.W. Smith of a warship under sail with a hoist of signal flags at the peak of the gaff. Embroidered in satin stitch, in knitting wool on a canvas backing with the rigging in silk.There is a crown above the ship which is surrounded by two Union Flags, two Red Ensigns, a French and a Dutch ensign. The flags have a border of red, pink and blue twist. At the base of the design is a checked pattern and foliage branches with pink leaves. In original maple frame.
