Mug

Shaving mug from the Incorporated Thames Nautical Training College – HMS 'Worcester'. Earthenware mug with no handle, transfer-printed in black with the badge of the college – a sailing vessel surrounded by a garter badge inscribed: ‘THE INCORPORATED THAMES NAUTICAL TRAINING COLLEGE’. The whole is flanked by six British flags and surmounted by a queen’s crown. ‘UNION IS STRENGTH’ above and ‘H.M.S. WORCESTER’ below. The mug has a blue painted rim. Dates from before the closure of the college in 1968.
