Photograph 17: Lieutenant The Hon Walter G Stopford standing on the deck of HMS Bellerophon (1865), ca. 1892. He is wearing winter uniform – a blue double breasted jacket with gold distinction lace on the sleeves indicating he is a lieutenant of over 8 years seniority. Stopford born in 1855 died in 1918 as a Rear Admiral.

He is wearing a blue double breasted jacket with gold distinction lace on the sleeves indicating he is a lieutenant of over 8 years seniority. Wolfe Murray retired with the rank of Commander in 1896 and died in 1932.
