Carafe
A white ironstone china water carafe, transfer-printed in blue with the Royal Coat of Arms, double rope borders with carrick bends around the neck and base. On a ribbon above the arms, is the inscription 'STEAM SHIP GREAT BRITAIN' and below the royal motto 'DIEU ET MON DROIT'. Underneath the arms is printed 'SALOON'. The retailer's name 'J. STONIER, DRESDEN ROOMS, LORD STREET, LIVERPOOL', is printed on the base. The 'SS Great Britain', designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, was launched in Bristol in 1843 and is now preserved there as a museum ship. AAA5751 and AAA5752 are a pair.
