Tureen lid
White earthenware tureen lid with a knob, made for F. Green & Co., the passenger and cargo arm of the Green operation. It is transfer-printed with a blue chain-link pattern and the house flag of the Green Blackwall line. This is white with a blue square in the centre and a red cross overall. Below on a ribbon is the name 'SULTAN'. 'Sultan' was a screw steamer built and owned by R. & H. Green & Co., London, and launched at the Blackwall yard in 1873.
