Dish
An oval meat dish with a brown transfer-printed border of zigzags and interlaced ribbon. In the centre, a garter inscribed 'LATIMER' enclosing the house flag of J. Lidgett & Sons, London. The maker's mark and date code is impressed on the base. 'Latimer' was a sailing vessel of 1734 tons, built by W. Gray & Co., Hartlepool, launched in 1885. She was owned by J. Lidgett & Sons, London. In 1911 she was sold to Scandinavian ownership (M. Bruusgaard, Drammen, Norway). Renamed 'Maella', she was broken up in 1923.
