A 55 page specification for repairs and alterations to the Antarctic Research Vessel Discovery (1901). The title page is endorsed in ink with the tmescale of work July/August 1924 at Portsmouth.
The specification relates to Discovery's purchase by the Crown Agents for the Colonies for use by the Dependency of the Falkland Islands to study the whale populations. The work to fit her as an oceanographic research vessel was undertaken by Messrs Vospers at Portsmouth, under the direction of Sir Fortescue Flannery, Bagallay & Johnson Ltd, naval architects.
