Edgar J. March Collection

This is a brown cloth covered album, containing 362 mounted prints (of various sizes, but the majority measuring approximately 63mm x 38mm).

This album contains a variety of snapshot sized prints including First World War aircraft and airships; the battle of Jutland; aircraft carriers; Panama Canal, 1910-12; White Star liners, 1920’s; shipbuilding at Harland and Wolff, Belfast, J Samuel White, Cowes, Hawthorn Leslie (construction of Andania 1922) and Workman Clarke of Belfast.

The majority of the photographs have been captioned by March who served in the Royal Flying Corps, later the RAF from 1916-1919. Bibliography: Battlebags by Ces Mowthorpe (Sutton, 1998).
