Edgar J. March Collection
This is a brown cloth covered album, with the RAF crest drawn in white ink on the cover, containing 285 mounted prints plus 3 loose prints (of various sizes, from small snapshots up to 210mm x 133mm).
This album covers Edgar March’s career in the RAF from 1916-19 in France, England and Germany. It contains photographs of the many types of aeroplanes and airships in service during the First World War. There are also photographs of flying officers and the graves of Major McCudden, Albert Ball and March’s own brother who died of wounds received in action, 1917. The last pages of the album contain aerial views of submarine convoys, dazzle painted merchantmen and HM ships.
