Scale: circa 1:200,000. Printed chart from Strait of Lombok, the coast from Teeloo Cumbal [Kombal] to Labaun Treeang [Labuan Tring]. Ungraduated. English presence in the form of opium ships increased substantially in the Malay archipelago increased substantially from the 1760s. Raddin Tomoon goong is a title rather than a name, and is also spelt Radin Tumunggung in contemporary sources. Raden Temenggong is the preferred roman orthography today. The Temenggong was traditionally the third highest official in the Johor Sultanate, with responsibility for matters of force and justice. On this chart, it either refers to Engku Muda or Daing Kechil.
