Album relating to the First World War career of Eng. Sub. Lt. W. G. Turner RNR

This is a brown cloth covered album, with the spine missing, containing 138 photographs glued in.

Photographs relating to William Gordon Turner’s service in the Royal Navy during World War 1. Ships include armed merchant cruisers HMS Orama (1911), Himalaya (1892) and Olympic (1910); HM Submarines H1(1915 and H10 (1915); SMS Dresden (1907) at Juan Fernandez; Ascansius, Adriatic, Clan Stuart, Daleham, Justicia, Ludwig Wiener, Navarra, Norman, Oxfordshire, Persic Tyndareus (merchant ships).

Places include Cape Town, Simonstown, Freetown, Brazil, Quebec and Halifax.

Turner served on HMS Orama (1911) as an engineer sub-lieutenant, See Album 1085 for his full service details.
