A group of passengers with lifejackets aboard 'Kungsholm' (1966), undergoing life boat drill. An officer in his white uniform and lifejacket is walking away from the camera. Note the variety of fashions being worn.
A passenger is caught unawares during lifeboat drill. Since the 'Titanic' disaster in 1912 all ships have been obliged to carry lifeboats for all on board, and passengers are required to practice lifeboat drill on the day of departure. Each lifeboat has first-aid supplies and enough food and water for 24 hours.
