Auriga (1945) along the jetty, Lerwick.

A starboard bow view of HM Submarine 'Auriga' (1945), alongside the jetty at Lerwick, Shetlands. The photograph shows her after her re-fit when the external torpedo tubes were removed, the bow was streamlined, and an Asdic dome was added to the stern. The bow mounted asdic has been retracted, but the hatch can be seen open. To the right, ahead of the submarine, can be seen the starboard quarter of the Lerwick-registered Motor Fishing Vessel 'Press On' (fl.1955) [LK137]. The small tender can be seen lashed down behind the coach-house.
