Three sheets. Engraved. Scale: ca. 1:25 000 (bar). Cartographic Note: Variation shown 7 degrees 40' W. Scales in fathoms and statute miles. Additional Places: Massachusetts. Contents Note: A sheet of nautical remarks and directions is included in each version, except B and H, credited to George Callendar, Master of HMS Romney, 1769. The collection also contains a French derivative of 96A, published by the Depot General de la Marine in 1780. It uses the meridian of Paris and shows variation 6 degrees 4 W as observed in October 1778.
