The full plate fusee movement has a lever escapement and plain steel balance, which is protected by a decorative plate that bears the name of its original owner, Richard Cornewall Porter, Victualling Office, London. The foot of the balance cock is dated 1797.
The silver marks date the case to 1804, which may suggest that watch was originally contained in a gold case.
