The maker's mark is printed on the base. This pattern was described by the donor, a purser with Port Line, as the 'Breakfast service'. The Port Line carried refrigerated cargo from Australia and New Zealand and manufactured goods on the outward journey. Their ships also carried passengers. Blue Star and Port Lines operated under one management as Blue Star Port Lines from 1968.
