Teacup

A white bone china teacup with a gilded rim, base and handle, as used on Port Line vessels. The maker's mark and 'PORT LINE' is printed on the base. This pattern was described by the donor, a purser with Port Line, as the 'Early Morning Call' service (AAA5935 and AAA5936 are a similar design). The Port Line carried refrigerated cargo from Australia and New Zealand and manufactured goods on the outward journey; their ships also carried passengers. Blue Star and Port Lines operated under one management as Blue Star Port Lines from 1968.
