(sitting front l-r): Major Bousfield, Reserve Officer of the Natal Volunteer Force, Captain Percy Scott, Commandant of Durban, and Mr Culliman, Assistant Paymaster of 'Terrible'.
Captain Scott, commander of the Terrible (1895), a First Class Cruiser, was appointed Commandant of Durban on 7 November 1899, and replaced on 14 March 1900, when his ship went to China as originally planned.
