Figure
Earthenware figure probably intended to represent Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). It has an empty right sleeve and holds a scroll in its right hand. The figure is shown standing beside a pedestal covered with orange-coloured drapes, wearing a blue coat with a red collar and cuffs, white breeches and a black hat, the details picked out in gold. The hollow base is enclosed and decorated with a gilt line. It may have originally been part of a set with Napoleon and Wellington. Nelson is shown in the 1830-1843 pattern uniform that had a red collar and cuffs in full dress.
