A close-up of the quarterdeck of HMS 'Aurora' (1913), a light cruiser, with the mines loaded on board. On her port side is HMS 'Abdiel' (1915), a torpedo boat destroyer fitted as a minelayer. The photographer was standing on the quayside. On the extreme left is one of her two depth charges.
