Sopwith Schneider No. 1557 secured on board HMS 'Aurora' (1913)

The Sopwith Schneider seaplane No. 1557 secured for sea on board HMS 'Aurora' (1913), a light cruiser. The plane is secured to the beams behind the third funnel on the port side. A sailor in overalls is sitting on the lefthand float. The photographer was standing on the port side of the main mast looking forward.

The Sopwith arrived on board HMS 'Aurora' on 24 May and was transferred back to Felixstowe on 28 before being allocated to HMS 'Arethusa' (1913) on 29 May.
