Looking down on to the Compass Platform on HMS 'Aurora' (1913)
A view looking down onto the Compass Platform from the Control Top on the foremast of the light cruiser HMS 'Aurora' (1913) while underway at sea. The covered 9ft traversing range finder is mounted on the clamping rail traversing the platform. One unidentified officer is looking up at the camera, as is one of the sailors wearing a duffle coat. Sailors and officers can be seen on the port and starboard Bridge wings. The semaphore is attached to after side of the port wing. At the top of the photograph are a couple of sailors standing by the breech of the forward 6 inch gun.
