The chimney of the engine house can be seen on the left between North and South Locks. In the background is No. 3 Basin. An unidentified officer is standing on the forecastle just forward of the anchor hawse pipes near the bow fairleads.
Aurora's log records her entering dry dock No. 7 at 545pm on 20 April. She left Chatham Dockyard via North Lock on 4 May 1916. [TNA, ADM 53/34495]
