Siapo
Siapo (bark cloth) painted in yellow, brown and black with a pattern of leaves within squares and triangles (siapo mananu). A the ends are panels of trianglular trochus shell patterns and the chevron designs derived from the older printing blocks or 'upeti' made by sewing pandanus teaves together. the item was formerly in the collections of the London Missionary Society.
