Locks of hair wrapped in paper
Two locks of brown hair belonging to James Chalmers (1841-1901) and Jeanie Chalmers wrapped in a paper inscribed: '...1866 Jeanie's and James' hair.' Also a gilt stick pin - the compartment which formed the head is missing its glass and contents. 1866 is the year James and his wife Jane (Jane Kerr Hercus d.1879) left for the Pacific. Formerly in the collections of the London Missionary Society.
