Collection box

A London Missionary Society collection box in the shape of a thatched, round hut. Inscribed: 'LMS' on the door. It is made of papier-mâché with a balsa wood base. There is a slot for the money in the top which is extracted when an opening in the base is unsealed. A label on the base reads: 'CONGREGATIONAL COUNCIL FOR WORLD MISSION, Livingstone House, 11 Carteret Street, London S.W.1 CHURCH:... Boxholder's Name...Address... Box given out...To be brought in... WORLD MISSION SEC WITNESSING IN AFRICA - EAST ASIA CARRIBEAN - INDIA MADAGASCAR - PAPUA SOUTH SEAS.' Formerly in the collections of the London Missionary Society.
