large lens from RGO
1 plano-convex lens probably used as part of an enlarger in the 19th century. To use as an enlarger, the lenses would have been lined up, curved sides facing each other, light source behind one lense, photographic plate in front of the other. The lenses in this set up produce a uniform light source.
