Figure
A standing earthenware figure of an officer, probably intended to represent Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). He leans against a gun, surrounded by standards and shot, and standing on a grassy mound. The square base is painted to simulate marble. The right hand (though not the arm of the figure) is missing. He wears a blue lace-trimmed coat with yellow facings, epaulettes, a red military sash, cocked hat with red and blue plumes, a black stock, a sword, cream breeches and white stockings.
