Lieutenant Commander K. B. Toms asleep in the wardroom on HMS 'Aurora' (1913)

Lieutenant Commander Kenneth B. Toms asleep with his head resting on a pillow in a leather armchair in the wardroom of the light cruiser HMS 'Aurora' (1913). His feet are resting on a leather covered stool. Above his head is a framed illustration of the Roman sun goddess Aurora driving her horse-drawn chariot across the sky. The photograph came with a caption that described this as the day he was promoted to the rank of Commander. However, he is still in his Lt. Cdr uniform, and the date given is July. Toms date of promotion was 30 June 1916.
