A Short Type 74 seaplane secured for sea on board HMS 'Aurora' (1913)
A view on the port side looking forward up from the upper deck to the boat deck above on the light cruiser HMS 'Aurora' (1913). The Short Type 74 seaplane (serial number 818) has been secured on the deck in the place normally occupied by the 30ft motor boat. The wings have been folded back. The seaplane's details can be read on the tail, including the builder (Short Bros) and the contract number S115. The 'Aurora' is underway at sea.
