A view from the port side of the light cruiser HMS 'Aurora' (1913) looking forward at the Short Type 74 seaplane (serial number 818) secured to the boat deck. The seaplane has been secured on the deck in the place normally occupied by the 30ft motor boat. The wings have been folded back. The photographer was possible standing on the after 4 inch gun shield as he was in an elevated position. The after searchlight platform is on the right in front of the seaplane. The 'Aurora' is underway at sea.
