The Short Type 74 seaplane secured to the boat deck of HMS 'Aurora' (1913).
A front view of the Short Type 74 seaplane (serial number 818) secured on the boat deck in the place normally occupied by the 30ft motor boat. The wings have been folded back and a tarpaulin placed over the engine and propeller. The photographer was standing on the port side of the light cruiser HMS 'Aurora' (1913) beside the amidships 4 inch gun looking aft and upwards. The davits have been altered to take an additional yard with a pulley system to help guide the seaplane out.
The faint outline of a finger print is evident just above the seaplane.
