In his left hand he is carrying a binocular case. A. E. Cock has a book (unidentified) in his left hand and a cigarette in his right. Behind them to the right is the after six inch gun blast screen with the ammunition hoist in place. To the left of A. E. Cocks is the port side accommodation ladder. The original caption described them as being ready to go ashore.
