Sub Lieutenant John H. Bowen and Clerk Richard R. Wallace standing by two of the ready-use ammunition racks between the after six-inch gun and the blast screen on HMS 'Aurora' (1913). The gun breech has been covered with a tarpaulin. In front of the gun barrel are further ready-use ammunition racks (filled) and a Carley Float lashed to the deck. The photographer was standing on the port side of the quarterdeck next to the blast screen looking aft.
