The ship's skiff approaching the light cruiser HMS 'Aurora' (1913) with four officers onboard, including Mate George E. Harman and Lieutenant Geoffrey D'O. Earwaker. The skiff is being propelled by an outboard engine.

The photographer was standing on the deck of the ship looking down and out over the water.

Aurora was at Chatham Dockyard from 27 April to 16 May under refit and cleaning. She arrived at Sheerness on 25 April and then left Sheerness for Portsmouth on 17 May.
