Sub lieutenant John H. Bowen skipping with Mr Edward A. Lambson, Gunner, and Mr George Hammacott, Gunner, holding the ends of the rope on the upper deck of the light cruiser HMS 'Aurora' (1913). Sub Lt. Bowen has his jacket removed and his hands in his pockets as he skips. Behind them is the port side aftermost 4 inch gun and part of the superstructure. The photographer was standing near the skylights between the superstructure and after 6 inch gun looking forward.
