A chart from Anthony Ashley's English edition of the 'Mariners Mirrour'. Lord Howard of Effingham ordered Waghenaer's sea atlas, 'Die Spieghel der Zeevaerdt', to be translated. It was so popular that 'waggoner' became the English term for a book of charts.
