Union Flag
British Union Flag (post 1801 pattern). Machine-sewn wool bunting. Worn by HMS Barham as a battle flag at Jutland 31 May 1916. Provenance - William Hayward, Leading Telegraphist HMS 'Mary Rose', killed in action 17 October 1917, aged 21. Rope and two Inglefield clips attached. Brass grommets in hoist.
