The steam drifter Citron (1911) alongside the port bow of the light cruiser HMS 'Arethusa' (1913) aground on Cutler Shoal.

A starboard broadside view of the drifter Citron (1911) outboard an unidentified drifter off the port bow of the light cruiser HMS 'Arethusa' (1913). The bow and stern are out of the water, but the midship area between the bridge and the after rangefinder platform are under water. The funnel and masts of another unidentified drifter (alongside) can been seen off the starboard quarter. 'Arethusa' hit a mine on 11 February off Felixstowe and ran aground on the Cutler Shoal when the tow broke.

The Cutler Shoal is a rocky shoal which lies about 2.3 miles E of the entrance to Woodbridge Haven and the river Deben.

The negative has some areas of spotting.
