A porcelain figure inscribed 'Officer of the Kent 1745' underneath the base. He is shown wearing civilian dress prior to the introduction of naval uniform in 1748. The figure wears a red waistcoat and breeches, a blue coat with red cuffs and a black tricorn hat. He holds a rolled paper in his left hand and a telescope in his right. One of a series of figures illustrating the development of British naval uniform. The figure has the Dresden anchor mark on the base.
