A porcelain figure inscribed on the base 'Captain 1808'. He wears the full dress uniform of a captain, 1795-1812 pattern, the blue coat is laced on the lapels, cuffs and pockets but not on the tails and is not worn with epaulettes as it should be. The laced cocked hat is worn 'fore and aft'. The figure wears a white waistcoat, blue pantaloons and boots with tassels. One of a series of figures illustrating the development of British naval uniform with the Dresden gold anchor mark on the base.
