An oval ceramic portrait medallion. On a blue background, a white relief profile of Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805) in uniform, facing left, being a smaller version of the Wedgwood portrait modelled by John de Vaere. The back is white with an impressed maker's mark.
